In the aftermath of the financial crisis the Dutch economy managed to recover as it was able to benefit from expanding world trade. Lately however the economy has slowed down, ending up in recession in the latter half of 2011.


Casting more light on shadow banking (Engelstalig)

Shadow banking has been placed high on this year’s agenda for regulating bodies including the Financial Stability Board (FSB) and the European Commission (EC). The risks of the shadow banking system became apparent during the credit crisis.


Economic Update The Netherlands (Engelstalig)

The contraction of the Dutch economy has been adjusted upwards by 0.1% point. Corrected for working day and seasonal effects, the real contraction in the fourth quarter was 0.6%. For 2012 as a whole, a negative real growth is expected of -¾%.
