De Nederlandse economie was in de tweede helft van 2012 voor de derde keer in de afgelopen vier jaar in recessie. Recente ontwikkelingen wijzen op stabilisatie, maar de vooruitzichten blijven zwak en onzeker.

De eurocrisis laat zich snel noch makkelijk oplossen. Lonen en prijzen in Zuid-Europa zijn het afgelopen decennia te snel gestegen en de herwinning van het concurrentievermogen kost tijd en doet sociaal en economisch pijn.
